Named after the king of orchids, Waling-Waling Beach Resort is a warm, cozy resort. Its rooms do not get the noise you'd expect of a resort located in a busy area of the island but instead provide a quiet retreat..Beach front rooms have a balcony overlooking the white sandy beaches. Sliding doors separate the room from the balcony. On my last visit, I kept the sliding doors open, preferring the cool breeze to the air-conditioning. To respond to the heavy demand for rooms, the hotel initiated an expansion project and has recently introduced the Sitio Waling-waling located in Balabag Plaza only a few meters from the beachfront property. It was developed with an upgraded facilities quite unlike the original resort to compensate for not being on the beach. The sitio offers butler service, privacy and intimacy. It is very ideal for extended families and groups of 12 to 18 due to its large rooms and extra amenities.

The sitio has 4 villas with a total of 6 bedrooms. The two villas each has a one bedroom loft, living room and a spacious bathroom equipped with a Jacuzzi. The two other villas each has 2 bedrooms with a living/dining area and bathroom that opens into a garden. The compound has a common swimming pool accented by a manmade waterfall that spills into the swimming pool. Truly compensating that you may forget the beach that you came over here for! Of course a stay at Waling-waling Beach Resort is not complete without trying their massage services. Be it shiatsu, refl exology, Swedish massage, foot and neck massage one is treted with authentic Indonesian treatments including the application of exotic ingredients called jamu, guaranteed to give you an instant bronze tan. A stay at the Waling-waling beach resort can become an unforgettable Boracay experience. The resort offers world-class accommodations that meet the standard of discriminating travelers. At room 216, where I stayed, I woke up to the sound of waves gently lapping on the shore. I then strolled down Diniwid beach with its white powdery sand just as the sun was rising. Have a hearty breakfast of fresh tropical fruits and typical island fare and you're off to a good day to experience the island.

Take in the spectacular sunrise or sunset view either with your favorite beverage or cocktail drink, followed by a seafood barbeque amidst lighted oil lamp dinners by the beach. And to cap your perfect day, mingle with friendly crowds at the open air bamboo bar to the tune of a Caribbean or samba beat under a canopy of twinkling stars. It's a one of a kind ambience, and yes, the haute life.
